The Nasarawa State University has been shut indefinitely following the killing of more than four students by soldiers.

Sources say the students embarked on a peaceful protest earlier today to register their grievances with the University authority in respect of scarcity of water on the campus.

The soldiers reportedly shot sporadically, killing over four students and injuring many.

More to come…

What type country are we in,where no one is safe.I thought soldiers were more friendly and literate than the police, this shows they are all birds of the same feather.very soon government will set up a kangaroo enquiry that shall end up favoring them.let’s watch and see whether NANS knows what to do or not.is this another UNIPORT,why students all the time?U guys better get up and fight for your rights.

  4. Recent happenings in Nigeria are indices of a failed state. It goes beyond to show the irresponsibility and incapability of those whose are suppose to handle issues of this nature. This is just one of the several assault and humiliation people get from security agencies. I wish to state here that to respect the dignity of person is to concede his rights to him as fully human. Any thing less of this is an abuse of human right and a gross violation of human dignity.
