UDU Closure

The Management of the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto has ordered the immediate and indefinite closure of the institution Tuesday following a students’ protest at the Vice Chancellors residence yesterday. The university authorities accused the students of “not following due process”.

Sources say the students were protesting the poor living conditions on the school campus situated at Dundaye, chief of which is the erratic power supply. Some students had matched to the generator house insisting that the generating set often switched on to cushion the effect of power outage, must not be put off, after which they matched to the VC’s house to bear their grouse.

The management of the university in a statement made available to News Bytes ordered the students to vacate the campus latest noon today. Most students trekked kilometres so as to beat the evacuation deadline, with many walking as far as most Dandima.

Students have reportedly left the campus as at press time.

  1. When will Nigeria make things right for undergraduate in this country? I think the education minister need to get to work, to checkmate un-finish project, in other to make things easy for the student
