Flash: Former FCT Military Administrator, Mamman Kontangora Dies At 69


Former Military administrator for the Federal Capital Territory during the regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Mamman Kontagora is dead.

Mamman Kontagora was an engineer who had an excellent career in the Armed Forces, while also serving in the public service as Federal Minister, Sole Administrator of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on the Development of National Stadia for the World Youth Soccer Championship in 1995 and before his death, Deputy Chairman of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P.

The Major General who hails from Kotangora in Niger state was born April 20, 1944 and died Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has extended his condolence to the Kontangora family, the Kontagora Emirate Council, the governor and people of Niger State over news of his demise received with “shock and immense sadness”.
