29 students and a teacher of the Government Secondary School in Mamudo town, Yobe state have been killed when members of the Boko Haram sect attacked in the early hours of Saturday.
Survivors who are being treated for burns and gunshots wounds say some students were burned alive in the attack which occurred just before dawn today.
A farmer Malam Abdullahi, according to the AP lost two sons in the attack.
Sources say there was no protection for students despite the deployment of thousands of troops since the government declared a state of emergency mid-May in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states.
