Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) Services has been restored in Adamawa state indicating an improvement in the security situation in the state.
However, the ban remains in the other two states- Borno and Yobe- under state of emergency in Northern Nigeria.
Following declaration of state of emergency in May in the three states by President Goodluck Jonathan, the military shut down mobile networks to prevent the insurgents from communicating.
The army said the networks could be restored in Adamawa given the “positive indications” about the security situation there.
